OVO is a music and life project. OVO are Stefania
Pedretti (playing with Allun, too) and Bruno Dorella (ex Wolfango, now
in different projects,too and Bar La Muerte Rec.'s boss), with other friends
who've got similar attitude (in the Assassine recording, Jacopo
Andreini, Claudio Parodi, Hermit e Il Capoccia).
Bruno e Stefania gave birth to this project mainly to be together. Used
to follow each band in tour, but also sick of troubles which often force
these bands to give up their tours, gigs and recordings due to work, studies
or whatever, they thought to form an open |

but working two-people-band, which can freely go around, with or without
other musicians' help. So, a life project.The last frontier of self-management,
or in a simpler way the highest grade of freedom, both artistic and
logistic. To testify this there are already many gigs kept by OVO in
their brief existence, in Italy and abroad. Their spirit is just to
play anywhere, without any peculiar technical or economic request, just
for the pleasure to do it. The release of Assassine requested
4 different sessions, one per guest musician: each one of about one
hour of complete destructive improvisation, methodic deconstruction
and no wave quotations. The maddest and most surprising cuts were those
which were chosen. No overdubs, no mix (all sessions were recorded on
Dat), only some editing to equalize volumes. We'd like to keep OVO,
as an ideal thing, very free inside the 'music business', if it's not
possible to keep it out of it.
A few words about the musicians:
Stefania Pedretti: supreme non-musician, vocalist and guitarist
in ALLUN, in Assassine it is distinguished by her unique way
to torture guitar and violins and her very peculiar voice.
Bruno Dorella: once drummer with WOLFANGO, today with DANIELE
BRUSASCHETTO, SICK DOGS and occasionally BUGO, guitarist with RONIN,
noise-maker with LAVA and VENTOLIN ORCHESTRA, in Assassine plays
drums almost always and plays once bass guitar.
Jacopo Andreini: plays many instruments in many projects and
bands, amongst them: BZ BZ UEU, NANDO MEET CORROSION, NEEM, JACK ANDREWS,
JEALOUSY PARTY, CRAP, and a solo album on Snowdonia and a couple of
dub bands and various free jazz line-ups.
Claudio Parodi: radical vanguardist, piano player, born classical
and transformed by Stockhausen, he plays in Assassine what he
himself calls cheap electronics, that is a strange bunch of radio-sets
and impossible instruments...
Hermit: very famous in the circle of power electronics, author
of an enormous discography, past and present in peculiarly original
h/c and punk bands(Sub Genius, Third World Planet, NNY).
Capoccia: Hinge of the h/c satanic scene from Rome, drummer for
the marvelous CONCRETE and also in LOS VATICANOS, NAGANT 1865, COMRADES...
But as i said the real OvO's strenght is their live set. So, here's
where they played from the beginning:
- December 2000: tour in Italy and Switzerland with the u.s.a. noisers
Cock ESP.
- January 2001: tour in Italy and Switzerland with Zabloudil (CZ).
- February - April 2001: tour in Italy, Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria and
Macedonia with NNY.
- April 2001: noise festival in Slovenia and Italy where they introduce
their Violin Pain performance.
- May 2001: italian tour with ROLLERBALL.
- July 2001: anarcopunk and noise festival in Italy, performance in
non-typical places like galeries and record shops with their Violin
Pain performance.
- September 2001: tour in USA, on the East Coast with the touring festival
Phi Phenomena and on the West Coast again with ROLLERBALL.
Now out a split CD with ROLLERBALL.
Scheduled releases: split CD with KILLER KOALA, a tape for the bulgarian
label AON.
