CGB - Crime Gang Bang ... a story

..so now you know that CGB stands for Crime Gang Bang. It's a band that, probably thanx more to the age of its members than other merits, can be defined 'historical'. As for music it's punk-hardcore. Band's history is bound to the experience of the Centro Sociale (social center) Sobbalzo in Imperia and the today's Spazio Autogestito Babilonia, but not only.. we've got to remember the activity of distribution and production of various material done by E.S.T.(Edizioni Storie Tese), carried on for years by Vito, Robi and - later - by Vittorio.

* CGB were born in 1987 as a first line up with Davide G. on drums and the legendary Marcello M. at the microphone; Robi, playing bass guitar (ur devoted webmasta..), and Beck, playing guitar, will remain steady members in the band. At the end of that year they record the 7" "figli della rabbia, figli del dolore", with 5 songs. At the beginning of 1988 the record is produced by E.S.T.
* First to leave the band is the drummer, from Davide G. to Francesco R., then the vocalist, from Marcello M. to Marcello "Ubi" (great piercer of the riviera). With this line up, 'til about 1991, they'll produce the main part of CGB's activity. Various gigs, both in their local area (Imperia-Italy), and in northern Italy. Few dates in Germany, Switzerland and a brief tour, in december 1989, in Czechoslovakia of those days. Always in 1989, produced by E.S.T., together with other three local bands (ULCERA, JESUS WENT TO JERUSALEM, 102 TRUFFE), a LP compilation "Giu' le mani" is put out.
* To follow, they'll take part in other compilations, like "Senza riserve" LP (with the song "la foresta"), produced by the Lega dei Furiosi, a national collective of independent producers/distributors, to which E.S.T. took part. We also remember a compilation on tape produced by the CSA L'Indiano (a social center), in Florence...
* Francesco, moving to Florence, in fact caused the band's split up. But... beware! Since a few time it happened something like an 'old flame', so it seems that 'round the city of Imperia there're new...technical tests of..orchestration, done by Beck, Robi, Ubi and a new imported (from Sicily) 'human-machine': Enzo (who played in CornFlake Freaks).. and we're in spring 2002. Since october 2002, Marcello "Ubi" leaves his microphone to Davide (ex-Corn Flake Freaks, and also playing for An Answer in Your Eyes). So the band decide to keep, as a name, simply CGB. Well, as we use to say, it's not always sunday (for you)!...
* In this section of the Babilonia's site, we suggest you to have a look at the visual material we collected, like: gig flyers, 'live' pictures, lyrics, reviews! Some things have to 'be seen'... Enjoy the rest of your journey!...
